About PolyUtopian

PolyUtopian is looking for:

Relationship Status: Single

Gender: Male

Sexual Orientation: Straight

Age: 50

Location: Brooklyn

Out Rating: Out to Close Friends

Interests: Seeking 10 Polyamorous Bi Females to build a utopia...

(I'LL BE AT THE POLY EVENT AT CHINA1 THIS MONDAY.)

There is an old Buddhist saying that goes, "It is better to light a single candle than to sit cursing the darkness." I would agree, although I would also say that such rituals as chanting and prayer are, at best, nothing more than elaborate ways of sitting and cursing the darkness. If you agree, perhaps we can together build a paradise, not just for ourselves, but eventually for any person of any sex or sexual persuasion sharing the goal who wishes to enter.

I wish to create an evolutionarily and politically stable polyamorous utopia. I have worked on the idea for a few years now, and I think it is possible. I have worked out a basic blueprint for the society, and a strategy for achieving it peaceably, as well as some inventions that should help us start out successfully, but I currently have near zero capital and no human resources other than myself to patent or implement. That said, financing is only a secondary issue. With the right people, I think we can build something wonderful if the rest of the world does not first destroy itself and us along with it.

My current blueprint is libertarian-socialist, though I am open to other suggestions, but this will not be a democracy (a.k.a. two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner); all politically significant decisions must be unanimously agreed on by all interested parties. (Abstention is allowed, but no such decision will be implemented as long as there is any dissent. Some things will be voted on, but only after unanimous approval of the vote.)

Libertarian advantages: Minimal restriction on any behaviors other than those which legitimately threaten others in the society or any of its citizens. Profit motive (or a practical equivalent) still exists for increased productivity.

Socialist advantages (see below) are supported in that no coercion is necessary to achieve them. This results in lower bureaucratic and enforcement operating costs.

Socialist advantages: Sharing of resources, stable societal structure, strong resistance to disease and disaster.

Polyamorous advantages: Lack of jealous and possessive behavior combined with a strong widespread affection leads to a more productive and harmonious society. Also, when there is freedom to openly have multiple partners without societal disapproval, energy and resources previously used to hide activities can instead be used to productive ends.

About: 50 year-old secularly inclined hetero-male computer programmer, fairly attractive (or so I have been told), about 150 lbs. 5 foot 10 inches. No recreational drug use. Power walker and physically active.

Communicable diseases: Oral HSV; so far, about one outbreak every four years on average. The most recent outbreak, around late 2009, was so mild that it was invisible except on close inspection. Other than that, no communicable diseases that I know of.

Relationship Goals: Long Term Relationship

Relationship Status: Single Person, Couple, Triple, Group

Gender: Female

Sexual Orientation: Bisexual

Age: 20 - 255

Location: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, New Jersey, Upstate New York, Connecticut

Out Rating: Out to Everyone, Out to Close Friends, Discreet, Completely Closeted

Relationship Type: Physical ethnic traits and looks unimportant. Age 20 or older (no upper limit). Healthy body, secularly inclined, stable and intelligent mind very important, SSC very important. No drugs please. I don't care about disease or disability, as long as it's not airborne or passed through dry skin contact, and you are happily willing to avoid ANY risk of passing it to ANY person. (This includes members of our own group and outsiders as well. When you risk passing a communicable disease, you risk getting one as well. With the modern abundance of available sex toys and prophylactic devices, there is just no excuse for risk.)

But I want much more than a relationship. To start, I need at least ten intelligent polyamorous bisexual women who will be committed to the cause. (It is not necessary to be into group sex, nor is any relationship restricted to the pioneer group. It is just necessary that every member of the pioneer group feels a strong affection towards every other member, and that jealousy and possessiveness are absent.) I am especially interested in women of high-end professions such as engineers, biologists, chemists, programmers, geologists, botanists, architects, lawyers, medical doctors, etc. Multi-lingual also helps.

Characteristics: I wish to build something, and I need the help of a large crew consisting of at least 100 members, each of whom feels a very strong affection for every other member. To start out though, I only need 10 such people in addition to myself.

Please be as informative as possible in your answer. A thorough response is guaranteed to generate more communication from me. -Well, almost guaranteed, anyway. Obviously, if I get a hundred thousand thorough responses, I wont be able to answer all of them, but I am guessing that this is not likely to happen. In fact, I will probably be lucky to get fifty by the end of the year.

I need to know what your idea of a utopia is, and what you are willing to do to achieve it. The model is flexible, but I need to know what skills and resources are available to work with when building it.

Please respond to me with the following:

- Your first name.
- Your skills.
- Your zip code.
- Your likes and dislikes, sexual and non-sexual.
- Anything else you feel like sharing about yourself.

*****************

Also, I would be glad to hear any ideas you have on creating a utopian society (don't feel you have to answer every question here, only the ones that are important to you. And please don't think that some opinion you hold disqualifies you from being a part of this; the societal blueprint is very flexible; nothing here is a set-in-stone requirement for the society either way; it is just to get to know you and see what is possible.):

- How would your ideal society encourage productivity and maintain the societal structure?
- How would it implement defense against inside and outside violence, vandalism, and theft / forcible / fraudulent removal of resources?
- How would it protect unpopular minorities from unjust treatment at the hands of majorities?
- How would it help disabled members of the society, while ensuring that they do not become a disabling burden on the society itself?
- How would it prevent overpopulation?
- How would it deal with waste disposal and other environmental issues?
- How would it deal with the issue of land acquisition?
- How would it prevent abuses of political power?
- How would it prevent child abuse?
- How would it handle children's education?
- Would it provide health care for its citizens, and if so how?
- How would you bring the society into existence?
- Would it prevent self-destructive behavior, and if so how?
- How would you finance the start and continued existence of the society?
- What are your views on crime and punishment?
- What are your views on family values?
- What are your views on ethnic loyalties?
- What are your views on religious freedom?
- What are your views on freedom of expression?
- What are your views on patriotism?
- What are your views on war?
- What are your views on pacifism?
- What are your views on the rights of species other than human? E.g. Do mammals have rights that insects do not? Do domesticated animals have rights that wild animals do not? Do cute animals have rights that ugly animals do not? Do herbivores have rights that predators do not? Do animals have rights that plants do not? How about bacterial and viral rights?
- What are your views on abortion?
- What are your views on euthanasia?
- What are your views on eugenics?
- Which of these views might change, and under what circumstances?
- What freedoms, rights, or privileges, if any, do you currently have that you would gladly sacrifice to achieve an ideal society?
- What freedoms, rights, or privileges, if any, do you not currently have that you would have in an ideal society?
- For example, would you be willing sacrifice all privacy in a society in which all peaceful actions were tolerated by all citizens?
- Would you enjoy living in a society in which physical expressions of affection (not of dominance), including (but not limited to) sexually aggressive caressing, touching fondling, etc. (although not groping, grabbing, pushing, hitting, etc.) were very rarely in any way restricted by law or societal disapproval? (In other words, you could touch anyone you wished, and anyone else could touch you at will. There would be necessary exceptions, but they would be mostly based on productivity and health issues, rather than personal space issues. For example, there would be restrictions against being sexually aggressive towards children as such might interfere with the child's healthy development. The only other exception is that once the society expanded to include other persuasions it would not be universally permissible to sexually touch a person not attracted to your own sex, i.e. a homosexual male or a heterosexual female; remember that all sexes and persuasions will eventually be present in the society.)
-0r, same question, but if it were limited to non-sexual touching?
-0r, same question again, but add to the scenario that sexual activity would also be on request from any other compatible member of the society, with the only restriction being that the person making the request would be obligated to satisfy the fetishes of the person to whom the request is made?
- Would you be willing to forego having children to build a society in which comfort and health were maximized for all who lived in it?
- Would you be willing to live in a society in which some or all of your most valuable skills up to now are destined to rapidly become no longer needed?
- Would you be willing to learn new skills and adopt a new life paradigm?
- Would you be willing to give up private ownership for a society in which every citizen, including yourself, had more advantages of available use than ownership currently provides?
- Would you be willing to give up every holiday in the year in exchange for a calendar where every day is just as special, wonderful, and exciting as every other, and work schedules are entirely dependent on practicality?
- Would you contribute manual and intellectual labor to build and maintain a utopia that lived up to your ideals? If so, how much?
- How many days a week total would you be willing to work if you shared a mutual affection with all of your co-workers?
- Would you give up all religious and superstitious ritual using the time and energy instead to create, build, and maintain the things that make life pleasurable for all members of the society?
- Would you live in a harsh climate? If so, how harsh and for how long?
- Would you live in a society where good hygiene was environmentally enforced? (Environmental enforcement means that an environment is created in which the only rational option is the desired course of action or in which the environment itself takes the desired action. An example of the former would be a bathroom door that does not allow exit unless the bathroom and its user are clean. An example of the latter would be a bathroom that cleans itself and its user after every use.)
- Would you live in a society in which meat and junk food are not available, and food is rationed in healthful portions? (Please note: this question has absolutely nothing to do with animal rights. It is an economical and health-related consideration. Fish may or may not be available as a food choice depending on the unanimous agreement of the first hundred other than myself who build the society.)
- Would you live in a society in which recreational drugs, including (but not limited to) alcoholic beverages and cigarettes, are not available?
- Would you give up television and spectator sports?
- Would you give up all sexual behavior in which an exchange of bodily fluids takes place?
- Would you spend one day per week caring for and ensuring the comfort of a disabled person?
- Would you spend one day per week as a neighborhood watch?
- Again, please add anything else you feel like sharing.
