Polyamorous NYC announces the 2nd Annual Poly Pride Day in Central Park Polyamorous NYC will host the 2nd Annual Poly Pride Day on Great Hill in Central Park, Saturday, Oct. 5th from Noon to 6 p.m.
This is the second time an event like this has ever been planned. This year the event represents more than just a chance to begin a new era of acceptance for Poly people. Last year's event was scheduled for Saturday, September 15th.
"Being just a few days after September 11th, the timing was understandably very difficult," says Poly Pride Chair, Justen Michael. "This year simply having the event shows the enduring spirit of the Poly Community and of the New York Poly Community in particular. We would like to have the event that should have occurred last year."
Like last year, the format for the event this year is planned to be a peaceful picnic with both speakers and entertainers scheduled throughout the day's festivities.
Organizers encourage spectators to bring blankets, their own food & drink (non-alcoholic) and family members to sit on a grass lawn in Central Park while relaxing & listening to other Poly people speak and perform in a safe environment where they will not be judged. Expected attendance is between 200 and 500 people.
Polyamorous NYC is a social group in New York City designed to bring together people who have an interest in long-term, romantically committed, multiple partner relationships. The group has a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender focus, but also welcomes supportive heterosexuals. Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 8 p.m. at the Lesbian & Gay Community Center.
