Friday, January 30th 2009 POLYAMOROUS NYC'S POLICY ON AIDS DENIALISM As a people who believe that group sex and multiple sexual partners can be a healthy part of an individual's love life, the Polyamory community has an enhanced obligation to understand our responsibility in stopping the spread of HIV & AIDS. AIDS Denialism is the idea that HIV is not the cause of AIDS. The idea creates the illusion of reduced need for condoms and is used in arguments against condom use. The very existence of AIDS Denialism therefore puts people at increased risk for infection. The cause and effect relationship between HIV transmission and AIDS is scientifically documented. Polyamorous NYC stands with all people living with HIV/AIDS. Polyamorous NYC stands with all people affected by HIV/AIDS. Polyamorous NYC stands in remembrance of all those who have passed on due to HIV/AIDS. Polyamorous NYC stands to prevent transmission, helping to protect people who remain HIV-. As such, we declare our vehement opposition to AIDS Denialism. ### |
