Rally

Thanks to everyone who attended the Ninth Annual Poly Pride Weekend!

The festivities kicked off on Friday night with two hours of affectionate cuddling at the Super Massive Cuddle Party. The main event was the Picnic + Rally in Central Park Saturday afternoon. The performers were stellar, the speakers varied and articulate, and the crowd was filled with poly people from all over the country.

We have some great pics from the rally over on our event photos page. If you have some that you'd like to share, email them over.

Support Equality! Our schedule this year was a little different from previous years in that we did not host an after party or book reading. Poly Pride is always held the Saturday right before or on National Coming Out Day which is October 11th. This is done intentionally to encourage Poly people of all orientations to come out in their daily lives and increase our visibility as a community. This day is recognized throughout the Gay community as a time to celebrate the GLBT identity and take one step further on the never-ending journey of eliminating the shame that comes from being in the closet. It is no accident that a NATIONAL March on Washington for GLBT Rights was planned for the same weekend - on National Coming Out Day. As a direct result, Polyamorous NYC did not host any Saturday night or Sunday events for Poly Pride weekend out of respect for this march and to provide opportunity for Poly Pride participants to attend both the Poly Pride Rally in New York City on Saturday and the Gay Rights March in DC on Sunday.
